My original post was a tweet that Ryan posted last night. He's since deleted it so it's automatically vanished from my post too.

I saw it after Shauney G text me last night, so many others saw it as well, and apparently Robins was in contact with the boss last night to tell him he wanted away.
Be is it, as was suggested to me last night, more attention seeking on his part or the reality of the situation I guess the next 24 hours will confirm.
A drama none the less

Thank f##k for that....one lazy ba####d and he upsets all the other players. Most probably the main reasons why Greg, bell and jepson left. The only player under contract and the only player who never gave 100%.

I don't do Twitter but if I did I would like to think I would use it sensibly and not put things out there for the whole world to see, you have to be really careful what you say, as you just never know who could see what you you may have put on in haste only to then retrospectively decide it was perhaps not the most sensible thing to do after all. And that doesn't just go for players, managers as well. Bostons Dennis Greene has come in for a bit of flak recently for telling some supporters what they should do if they don't like what is happening. Understandable as it may be, and as Gresh will confirm if the Boston faithful turn on you it can be very vicious, but still probably an unwise, maybe even an unprofessional thing to do.
Looking at Robins tweets over the last week, and particularly the last 24 hours, it can leave no doubt in anyone's mind that he's off, and more that he wasn't exactly enamoured by the appointment of Mr Wilson as he posted on 24th OCT; "Never heard of this guy in my life, great start this!" Which one has to assume is aimed at Wilson, and as we speak remains up there.
Last Night; In various responses one assumes to questions raised by my mate Shauny G at Boston, Clipper and Dean C he confirmed among various replies that Boston hadn't approached him, wasn't really interested in the money at Spalding but significantly that he was indeed a free agent!
All these were there five minutes ago because I checked them, but it appears in the time it has taken to write this, all have now been removed including the one from last night that fueled what remains at this stage this conjecture. Dale even, and rightly even thanked him for the memories and goals, and no one would be doing that without a variety of comments preceding it to prompt it.
So I guess we shall have to see what the day brings, interesting though and hence, as my opening remarks suggest Twitter can be a very damaging outlet for any commentary

Each season less good than the one before, but we probably did well to get a couple of good ones out of him. Shame he didn't move on before upsetting other players though.

The thing is Jeremy, despite all his comments suggesting he has, has he moved on. For him to claim he is now a free agent, doesn't suggest but means as a fact, that between Robins and the club they have agreed to cancel his contract, yet as so often happens no mention of the situation either on the main site or indeed our Twitter equivalent, which never ceases to amaze, as they must be fully aware of this issue?

Unfortunately Richard appears to be the only contributor to the main site and I guess he is at work! Not sure if he is officially the club's media man or not. Perhaps news items have to go to SRSN first, think that was the case a couple of years back. Nothing on there about Robbins at the moment.

Will free up a place and a wage for someone less disruptive.
Not sure who could replace him. Hopefully the gaffer has someone lined up already.

I'd like to know about Robbins, since I've sponsored him for the past 3 or so seasons!!! I suppose the first we fans will know is when he DOESN'T turn up for the coach on Saturday

Just to confirm there has not been any interest shown from Spalding for the lad Robbins, just so people are clear on that fact.
Hope that helps!!!

I think to be fair the lad Robbins said as much last night. Mercury reporting that he has been asked to be released from his contract and will therefore become a free agent, the latter point again being pretty much what Ryan said last night.

Does anyone have a reliable answer as to why Ryan wants to leave?

I can't say that this is the truth however if you read between the lines regarding the upset in the Camp regarding certain players views of Ryan and the arguments we see I a weekly basis during matches and if you then interpret what the New manager wants from the players which appears to be a lot more effort from the players then I guess there's your answer.. I just hope that with the players being allowed to leave the club that Mr Wilsonhas avert comprehensive contact list because we are going to need it!!!!

I have said it before NO ONE is bigger than the club and that includes Ryan Robbins.
Lets see what Jordan Smith can do as a striker playing along side Dan Clements (Little Mr Dynamite)
I have faith in Jon /Andy Wilson who I AM SURE WILL SORT THIS OUT FOR THE GOOD OF THE CLUB.
Come on boys 3 points on Saturday
All ways look on the bright side of life

You're of course right no player is bigger than the club and it's a shame really that a player like Ryan who should be playing in the National league and who has provided us with many good memories should end his association in such an ignominious fashion.
The fact that the club has it appears agreed to surrender the contract and in doing so relinquish the possibility of any fee just about sums up the situation, and if nothing else reaffirms the depths his stock has fallen to, because you cant skirt around the fact that the only reason Staffy wanted him on a new contract last season and the club then agreed was to stop such a possibility happening in the first place.
How many takers will there be for his service's is anyones guess, the way he has played this season not many at all.
Unfortunaatwly my natural cynicism won't allow me to believe that this is all a bit too contrived for my liming and that Ryan knows exactly where he is going but probably couldn't do so if there was a contract in place. Now there isn't!
If he does pop up somewhere soon, and would be surprised if he is not somewhere by Saturday, and then goes on to finish the season well, which for his sake and his talent, I hope it does it will endorse the fact that for three months he has been doing nothing but not only taken the piss but taking our money whilst doing so, and why it's such a shame that its come to this.
You know the worse thing of all is that the scores of supporters who once loved the lad and enjoyed nothing more than see him running at full pace down the wing.now won't give a toss..says it all doesn't it?

Hope this is true, my opinion is about time too, one or the other had to make the decision, just hope its the player. Lets be honest we were not going to make any money out of the deal with the player playing as he was because nobody would have touched him with a barge pole with that attitude. Just hope that Mr Wilson can contact players with a desire and commitment that we need to survive in this league and put some smiles back on the faces of players and supporters alike. When all said and done { for christ sake its only a game} thats what the wife says anyway.

I have no doubt h that Robbins will go on and have a fruitful remaining season who ever he plays for, but seems to me he can't stay long in one place has the desire dwindles if not successful, but fair play were all different, and maybe your right he might be playing below his level, because in my experience playing with better players makes you better but with Ryans attitude that may be difficult.

If, as it now seems likely, we are saving the money which was being spent on Robbins' contract, I think that it should be reinvested immediately on the player who, apart from Jonah, is the most valuable to our survival at the current level - Richard Knight. Our results to date have been pretty dismal, but without Richard's brilliant goalkeeping they would have been much worse. He must surely be getting peed off with the shambles in front of him, so we should take immediate steps to keep him here. Getting a few new decent players would help, of course, and that will surely happen soon.

He will be disappointed with himself to concede those three last night but in the FA Cup replay at home he made a couple of outstanding saves. At 3-1 as he picked the ball out the net last night he looked about fed up - hopefully the 2nd half performance bought the manager a bit more time with him.
