Just a short report below, in the hope that we get some other comments and keep this forum going... Disappointing game and result last night i thought. There was a bumper crowd in (many new faces too), and it just wasn't the spectable we were hoping for. I think it was a classic case of both sides just cancelling each other out, and arguably both were happy with the draw too. The first 5mins though were electric, with both sides coming close. If one of those chances had gone in, i'm sure the game would have been different. 2-3 of their chances fell to Gavin Allot, who i'm pretty sure didn't miss chances like that when he was banging them in for Frickley. Our best chance came in the 1st half, when Hicks' neat dummy put Morgan in 1 on 1 with the keeper. Unfortunately he delayed his shot, and their defender made a good last ditch tackle. Anyway, the league is tight and we're very much in the mix still. Quite a few away games now though. Let's hope we improve our away results and keep in touch at the top. Kidsgrove lost last night, but Leek had an ominous 6-2 victory....

seems like a lot of away games on the trot but:- Chasetown had to drop out of the trophy due to the dreaded virus and we hear that Sheffield is going to go into lockdown (not that Sheffield play in Sheffield of course0 but do we know if those two matches are going ahead?

Good summary Deano. Don’t think much more to add to that. Was hoping for goals but think Worksop stuck to their plan from the off and chances for us were hard to come by and we didn’t look as sharp in front of goal as we’ve seen this season. Thought we could of done better from set pieces as-well.

Also worth noting that Cosmos and Tendai were both a bit off the pace. Maybe from their illness / injury? Or maybe Worksop just had a good game plan for them?

I think you are right Dean that the two teams seem to cancel each other out. I think that it was in part because both teams used similar tactics in trying to move forward. I have never seen so much short distance head tennis in midfield which got neither team anywhere and neither have I seen so many long distance throw-ins which both teams adequately coped with. I do wish we would switch to trying something different when what we are doing clearly doesn't work. I feel we are missing something in midfield. We need someone to command the play in that area and distribute the ball around the pitch. On the whole probably not a bad result although not a great spectacle. COYR
