Hope we are all well in these tough times. Let's just have a few moments of happier thought s . What is our best Stamford Memory... Yes lots to choose from. Old or young give it a go.could be from 50s to kids, grandchildren playing for young Daniels. I,ve had many but gone with my first season becoming a Daniels supporter season 79/80. It was going to watch Malcolm Hurds mighty army at Wembley in the F.A.Vase final winning 2-0 against Guisborough. The good times will come back Up the Dannies

Since I’ve been involved nearly 30 years I’d have to say some of the following have been highlights
the back to back UCL titles Ricky Millers goal to win the playoffs Ludeck going nuts at the linesman when he gave a goal and we all realised that Ludos English was remarkable with the tirade I’d swear words that came from him The pleasure of seeing Barry Hand in action Steve Collins scoring a free kick from the halfway line he took it quick shouted are you ready Pledge and lobbed him Steve Collins being the only player I’ve ever known to have a conversation with the fans whilst flying up and down the wings Sat in the stand at Wothorpe Road in the pouring rain with Dave Parker Meadows mate Simon shouting is it still raining Dave 🤬🤬was the reply Watching us beat Willenhall 9-0 at home and having to text Dad who was in France and let him know each time we scored I’m still not sure he believes it happened Any time we win a local derby always seems so much better FA Cup first round proper at Hartlepool just being in the draw was a buzz Chally scoring his hundredth goal Pritch scoring a 4 minute hat trick Beating Witton 3-2 after being 2 down at half time to stay up
There are hundreds more over the years had some real laughs wherever we have gone as a club had good and bad times been there through them all and will hopefully still be there over the next 30 years

I suppose also Daley Thompson scoring a hat trick on his debut his third came from whoever the opposition was having a corner cleared Daley was in the 18 yard box but still managed to use his electric pace to out run everyone including 2 defenders to win the ball and round the keeper the most incredible few seconds of football to witness.

Just to add to the Daley Thompson bit.
I'd taken over for a while as secretary from Phil Bee and I had this call from Steve Evans. "Dave, I'm signing DT this week" Ok Steve, what club do I put 7 days notice in to. "Dave, I mean thee DT" No, not the DT. "Yes, thee bloody DT" Shit. "You need to get the Press and Radio to Wothorpe Rd for 7.30 Thursday for the signing" Bloody hell Steve that don't give us mutch time. "Just sort it" END OF CALL I phone the chairman Arthur Twiddy and he thinks I've gone nuts but calls Steve. Arthur confirms Steve's request and I get started on organising Thursday night. I and none of the board still believe it will happen and are very nervous at 7.15 on the night with two radio stations and press in attendance. Suddenly, the clubhouse door opens, and Steve Evans marches in with Daley Bloody Thompson behind him. The rest is history as they say. For the whole of his playing days with us, my phone does not stop ringing. Whoever we was playing away, I had their secretary on the phone asking if Daley was playing as they expected their biggest ever gate, my life was bedlam for a few months. But surely has to be one of the highlights of my time with Stamford AFC.

Some fantastic memories on this thread already. I'd loved to have seen Daley play for the Daniels. I started watching Stamford probably in around 2002-2003, just after returning to Town following University etc. Some of my favourite memories... (not in order, just as they come to my head!)
Winning away at Corby 2-0 on New Year's Day to go top of the SPL, with a fantastic Stamford following.
Martin Wormall going in goal after our keeper was sent off, and keeping a clean sheet
The first of the series of Lincs Shield Final wins at Sincil Bank. Great support that night.
Winning the Play off final v Chasetown. Miller going into folklore.
Beating Grantham 4-0 and Miller scoring all 4. He was unplayable at that time.
Hartlepool away in the Fa Cup. What a following. Everyone and anyone who was into football from the town was there.
Beating a strong Posh side in pre season at Wothorpe Rd. (or at least drawing. Can't quite remember).
Beating Leek 4-3 away when in a relegation dogfight with them. The best game of football i think i've ever seen. The scenes when the 3rd (and then 4th) goal went in were just superb.
Dougie Keast (then manager of Corby) going all 'Cantona' and getting into a semi ruck with the Railwaysiders.
FC United at home in FA Trophy. Fantastic goal to win it, in front of a superb crowd.
Wrexham (home) - A packed Zeeco (missed the away game as was away with work)
and probably my all time favourite... Stamford 3 - Witton 2 - Needing a win on the last day of the season to stay up. Witton needed a draw, and were 2-0 up at half time. And somehow, having never won at the Zeeco, we pull back 3 goals (one dodgy penno) to win it. You couldn't write it.

I remember watching stamford play a very strong Man United team at wothorpe road many years ago. I think I was about 6 or 7, maybe someone can tell what the year was. Also going on the Daniel's mini bus to Boston where we beat them in the cup final on there home turf. I'm sure Pritch scored a few, also remember there fans untieing Dean's Stamford banners a few times and he went up there and re tied them with a bit off banter... Talking off Miller who scored the winner in the play off final, I think his crunching challenge on the centre half was the turning point...good lad.

Ha, was that Boston game when Jason Lee was playing for them? That was a good evening. We were giving Jason some of the old ‘pineapple’ banter, and he ignored us the entire evening. Didn’t even flinch. Then he scored his penalty, and came straight to us, patting his head. Fair play to him.

Got to be 2012. Grantham had just won the league and were given a guard of honour as they ran on to the pitch by the Stamford team. Oh and we won the game.👏

Leek away twice pops up in the memory. The 4-3 win saw us come back from 3-1 down. The following season we went there and were 2-0 down early on, winning 3-2.
Chasetown, Hartlepool and Witton games are of course great moments in the club history too.
For me it has to be 2 thumping derby wins at Wothorpe Road. The first where we beat Corby 6-0, the second where we played Grantham off the pitch and won 4-0.
From memory we don't win too often at The Meres but anytime we do it is always a great occasion.

Beating Grantham 4-0 and Miller scoring all 4. He was unplayable at that time. It was a hat-trick, Paul Malone scored the other. Stamford wore that remembrance kit

Good crowd at 620 if i recall, super result with majority of players purchasing their shirts after the game with profits going to RBL. We were one of the first teams to wear a embroidered poppy on Errea shirts with St Georges Cross. Great afternoons footie.....

Fair enough. I just remember him being bloody incredible that day in particular. I'm still convinced he was good enough to be a star in the football league. Such a shame what happened at Posh. That ban at the start of his career there will probably haunt him for life.
