Another great performance to grind out another 3pts which we fully deserved. Worksop have picked up some good results of late, so we knew today wouldn’t be easy. Thankfully a crowd of 407, buoyed I guess by local postponements, saw us score a late winner to bag 3 more points and ramp up some more pressure on Leek. We were the better side and deservedly took the lead through Tendai who was immense the whole game. We had loads of chances to get the 2nd and put the game beyond doubt, but their keeper was in fine form. OHare could have scored a 1 on 1, and we could have scored a header from resulting corner too. As per the classic rules of football though, if you don’t take your chances, you get punished, and they equalised with a header from a swirling ball in. A draw would have been unfair and not good enough, but thankfully we kept pressing on, and the introduction of Ollie Brown Hill pushed us further forward. After good work from Cosmos, OBH was brought down for a clear penalty and Harry Vince does what he does best and buried it. Another 3 pts and the gap now at 5pts with same games played. Pressure on Leek now.

A very good result, yet again. Home game winning run stretches to 10 games now and back to the loss against Carlton in September. A draw would've definitely been a harsh result but once again we kept it at it to the last and now notch the win tally up to 19, coincidentally the same number of wins we got in the play off final season 2 years ago. We really have taken advantage of Leek dropping points and not playing of late with the gap to 5. They play on Tuesday against Cleethorpes, is probably one of the most crucial games that doesn't involve us so far this season, I'm sure we'll all be keeping eyes on that one.

Great win good crowd bolstered by a good following from worksop who probably should have had penalty.

That pen was an interesting one. I thought Haystead pulled out enough for it not to be a pen. The attacker was looking for it. Ref was well placed and I think gave the right decision

Yes another good performance in yet again atrocious conditions. At 4 pm Friday afternoon parts of the pitch resembled a boating lake and the match looked highly unlikely to go ahead. But Head Groundsman Gary had other ideas and was up the ground very early to single handedly get the pitch through a 9.45 inspection by a local referee. I'm sure we all appreciate that, I know Graham and the boys did, and it resulted in another 3 points. The pitch is taking a lot of very hard wear this winter and we are already organising for its renovation from May 11th. Fortunately we have a Crown Bowling Green designed pitch with a 100% drainage pad - just as bloody well!! As the club moves forward we are shortly about to make progress with the other grass pitches at Borderville in a programme that should see us as the central footballing hub in South Lincolnshire. Only last week, Gillingham from League 1 used our facilities for a training session on their way to beat Lincoln City. Hartlepool and others have also trained at Borderville and we get frequent requests from clubs and organisations to stage matches. Those of you who do have some time or are retired, should make a note of what youth matches are scheduled at Borderville. We have 2 excellent under 18's academy sides who play both evening and afternoon matches in league football, and of course we have the International CV Academy with player from across the world. I've watched some of these games and the level of skill and football played is top class, and if you like a bit of commitment shown, then these lads give bundles of it. Spectators would be welcome on both the 3G and grass pitches. What an excellent crowd yesterday, with 20 or so from Worksop helping us break the 400 barrier. The noise was once again fantastic, helped I'm sure from some Worksop banter. If the club are going to step up another level we will need every supporter we can encourage through the gate. Good players and higher levels of football do not come cheap, and I'm sure you are all aware of this - so its an effort all round from all of us. Stamford AFC needs to be promoted around the many pubs and businesses in the town. It was good to see some of our friends from Blackstones at the game yesterday and we thank you and hope that your season continues to go well and that the end of season restructuring is favourable for you - and of course us also. All in all, a good day at the office, made even better by Belper having a stumble. Lets hope Leek trip up again in midweek - and hey, ain't that last game of the season looking a real 'cracker jack'. Great result and a great crowd indeed. I even spotted a Peterborough Sports (PSL) supporter boosting our crowd. I wonder what he made of it comparing the two different styles of play. One person I didn't spot yesterday was Hicks. The Mercury indicated he was available. Anyone know where he is?

Hicksy was at the game yesterday supporting the boys and hopes to be fit soon. We also have a few Posh fans that have been to the last couple of games and stand near us. They don't always travel away with Posh and have now taken Stamford on board as their non-league team. They tried a few local clubs around Peterborough but find Stamford very friendly and they say our ground atmosphere is unreal for football at this level. They like the attractive way the boys try to play and absolutely sing the praises of their all out commitment. It just shows we can attract the wider based football supporter. Another goal is to attract and encourage our hundreds of Young Daniels players and parents to start attending home games - there's huge potential there. Up The Dannies

I realise that it's volunteers that have to do these things, but could the club do a poster showing the remaining fixtures with a big 'Push the Daniels to the title' message? It could be shared digitally across all 'Stamford' social media sites, and may help grow attendance? Print 20 copies out and stick in pubs too? Maybe harder to administer, but you could do an offer for the last 6 games too? Maybe £50 for the last 6 home games if you buy tickets all at once?

Definitely a huge market for Young Daniels and their families to get down to the Zeeco more regularly but what about the 98.5% of the towns general public who dont watch their local team (going off a 300 average attendance, only 1.5% of the town watches games). Obviously not all will be football fans, able to get down the ground etc etc but Dean is absolutely right in advertising in the town, especially for such an important run in, when we not only have the playoffs to secure but a league title on offer, when was the last time we were this close to a league title...? The 400+ attendance at the weekend was brilliant, but I reckon we should be trying to average this every week. We are not helped by travelling support at this level but we have huge potential of people associated with the Young Daniels and others in the town to attract to the Zeeco.

About the football not only successful but probably the most attractive football I have seen from them in the last twenty odd years. They could put away more of their chances but that's true of nearly every team. About the floating of ideas here's another. Production of ' I support thr Daniels' sticky labels about the size of the old Car tax label for cars and retail outlets. Competition to select the design. Just one to go into the pot with some brighter person to put the bones on it.

Some good ideas. A poster with the remaining games is now on the club's Facebook page. With regards to car stickers. These are being sold in the club shop.
