Tough game, tough conditions but very confident that this squad can adapt. Win today and we really cement 2nd and keep the pressure on Leek.(they play Frickley today.....not easy). Prediction 2-0 to Stamford

Fantastic result to win away there today. I wasn’t there but imagine the conditions made it tough (it was blowing a gale here, so I imagine it was even worse next to the North Sea!) Amazing spirit to get a late winner (Tendai) after they equalised with around 20mins to go. Would be interested to hear how the game was? We played well again I guess? As noted above, we’ve consolidated our position in 2nd but Belper still have 4 games in hand, so don’t rule them out. (Why didnt they play today?!). Shame that Leek got a narrow win against Frickley. Is there any stopping them? I suppose we just need to keep up our form and hope the pressure tells at some point!

Thanks. Looked a great game. They had plenty of chances but I think overall we deserved the win. Great finish from Tendai to seal the win
Ps strange that so few comments. I swear this forum is buzzing when we’re playing badly.

As you can see from the video, this was a very tough game, but we certainly deserved it. Both our goals were excellent pieces of play and quality finishes. The howling wind made pretty football almost impossible, but we certainly looked the more quality side on the ball. We were unlucky with several very good chances, but after they equalised in the second half we stepped it up again and bottled their incentive to get their noses in front. Our back 4 were superb once again and put their bodies in front of everything to stifle Vernon out of the game. The Gaffer brought on Dec O'Hare to give us an attacking midfielder and it paid off as we scored our second goal. Sadly for Dec, Gresh then brought Dec back off again and put Cleveland on - a defensive midfielder to see the remaining 7 minutes of play, out. Bizarre, but this is a squad and they all know it, and more importantly it all worked out well. You could see how much this game meant with the end of game celebrations by the team and with the supporters. Excellent turnout again of some 70+ supporters on a miserable day. Looks like a little break now before Stocksbridge at home in 2 weeks time and another tough game by what will be a physical side. Then the short trip to Carlton at Nottingham and I envisage a huge Stamford following at this game, just like at Loughborough in December. The team are really enjoying your fantastic support and Carlton will be like a home game to them with these incredible turnouts and noise. Up the Dannies

Wasn't able to make it however its a very important result as it puts 9 points between us in second and Cleethorpes themselves in 3rd having played the same number of games. Obviously there's Belper and Carlton with numerous games in hand however we are in a very good position. Highlights look very professional, what a header by Wrighty for the first goal and we were unfortunate to concede the equaliser in that manner. Both keepers put in unbelievable performances but notably their keepers saves from Cosmos' 2 quick fire shots was very good goalkeeping. if they did end up nicking something from the game they would have had him to thank. However he was unable to keep out that sublime effort from Tendai to keep us steaming on. Frickley couldn't do us a favour at the weekend and Leek make it 11 wins on the bounce and while we may have a 2 week break, Leek will play out their game in hand on us on Saturday where they could be 8 points clear with 14 games remaining. its completely in their hands and we just have to keep on and trying to firm second place but does anybody think they can let that sort of position go?
