Have just read on the NPL Facebook page that Spalding are likely to be forcefully relegated due to ground grading issues as the council who own their ground won’t carry out the work. I wonder which league we would be put in if this happens?

This has us the northern most team in the Southern Div 1 Central. If Spalding were to go down we would probably move back up into the NPL however one of the bottom 2 in our league would surely be reprieved who would both stay in the NPL so any issues with Spalding may not affect us?? The FA are stamping down on achieving the required ground grading standards and many clubs are being threatened with relegation. We probably wont be able to realistically predict what league well be in until all movements are finally confirmed

Where did you read that shrew? To be honest I’m not even sure how many go down? 1 or 2?
Think lots of clubs are falling foul of this, bit daft if you ask me.

It’s on the Facebook NPL page, also mentioned on the non league matters forum, I believe all clubs were notified in 2013 of the changes needed, so it’s not come out of the blue. Maybe if some of these clubs stopped paying silly money to players and made the improvements needed they wouldn’t be in this position, as of December I believe there were 18 clubs facing demotion, surely the FA can’t demote them all.

If they were notified for that long there is no real excuse for not planning ahead. Depends what they are not meeting some of the criteria is just stupid. Not that it changed anything.
Can you put a link to where you read it, can’t seem to find it just interested to what people said and who else hasn’t made the grade

Spalding and AFC Mansfield are the 2 in our division, to be honest not sure how to provide a link to the Facebook page, but if you look on the NPL page and scroll down you will find the thread began on Wednesday by Ian lummis, another contributor to the topic is a guy who worked for the NPL for many years, Gresley have had to extend their officials changing room by 1sq meter just to stay in the league.
If you look on the non league matters forum under the restructuring thread, you will find plenty on the grading fiasco.

Apparently, Spalding’s away changing room is a couple of meters square short. They were going to knock through a wall and move the referees to a cabin. The council won’t let them put the cabin by the stand as they only lease the land with the clubhouse on so the council want it put next to the clubhouse. The FA however have said that’s too far away from the changing rooms! The council really do shaft that club.
Silly to leave it all so late to sort. All over a few square meters

Can't see were it matters where the ref goes seeing the standard of refereeing I'd make them change in Sainsbury car park
