Probably file this game under ‘not a classic’. The wind I imagine didn’t help, but still I think we can all agree that it was a poor spectacle. Maybe many would have taken a point before the game? Frickley are a decent side, and well in form, so there’s no grumbling from me for the result, but we do need to string a few wins together if we’re to get back in the play off mix. Man of the match for me was Haystead who made a few crucial saves in the first 20mins, and then another one in injury time. They really should have buried at least one of their early chances. Then again, Burgess should have converted his header late on too. Overall I think they shaded it. We only really had 1-2 chances and they probably had 3-4. Yet again they were pretty unlikeable. The histrionics from their bench, their numbers 9 and 11 falling over continuously, and their number 4 inexplicably feigning an elbow in the box. Strange old bunch.

Oh and we could have had a penno late on after a ‘foul’ on John Sands. For me, it wasn’t a penalty. Sands would have been better trying to get on the end of it, rather than going to ground.

The behaviour of the Frickley team was once again disgusting to watch, it appears to be the same old every time we play them. Caused much anger towards them on the terrace that’s for sure. Think the play off ambition is slowly fading away, we are clear of the teams below us (in terms of games in hand) but making up the ever increasing gap between us and the main play off pack looks harder by the week. We looked well off today, Sands looked quite unfit and we seemed to revert to David Staff 2015 type of just hoofing it up the pitch from the back a lot of the time; where’s the free flowing on the floor football we delightfully saw so often last season. Thought the usually reliable Duffy had a poor game today but the young Posh youngster Gurney impressed in his short substitution appearance. Will still be behind the lads right through though, who knows a late run may still happen yet COYR

Most has been said. A pooresh game that we could and probably should have lost. I thought our key players were not at their best and our attack seem to simply involve Banging the ball into a packed box. Have said before I would like to see forwards back themselves more and get the ball into the box before the wall goes up. Several of their players were clearly auditioning for end of year panto season and should ask their manager for a whistle so they can ref the game as At the same time. Pathetic really.

Can't understand why Boachie was taking the corners. None of his efforts in that respect made it to the 6yard box, let alone onto the head of Miller etc. Maybe it was because Duffy often over-kicks them.
