Not a good period in South Kesteven football. The Gingerbreads now firmly in a relegation battle and Stamford looking for a route to some form with only a paltry 8 points from the last 10 league fixtures. Gresh will be hoping his “wheeler dealing”can bring about a winning combination but this will need to happen very soon if the play off ambition is not all but dashed early in the new year. Meanwhile down the A1 things are not looking good and a big turnaround needed... here’s hoping 😀

Wow! Over 100 views yet not one response. Anyone got a view? Don’t expect you to show much interest in the Gingerbreads plight but surely the Daniels future should arouse a response.Where the hell is Stampy?

We are all lost for words after Saturday's pitiful display tonyf. It was quite the worst display of passing by a Stamford side I have ever seen. Nothing went right. We had yet another new striker who showed that he has potential but like so many other of our players held on to the ball too long before either passing or shooting. We are not playing as a team, just a collection of individuals. We still cannot put the ball into the sack and have deficiencies all over the pitch. For the goalkeeper to be MOM tells you everything. I cannot think of anything positive to say. Perhaps next Saturday's game against lowly Mansfield will be different.

Wasn't that bad we did hit post a few last ditch defending by them who clearly came for a point think we just have take a reality check just because we get good crowds doesn't mean we will automatically win this league

Absolutely nobody is thinking that weareleeds?? Surprised you take that view being a Leeds fan. But last season we would likely have ripped apart that Pickering team. Am expecting one game soon it all begin to fall into place and end up with a 6-0 win. Games in hand looking a bit of a saving grace for us at the moment, sort it out by end of jan and we may be able to mount a play off push. keep getting the results we are doing then it can be forgotten. Ideally need an unbeaten December and looking at our fixtures its certainly possible.

I think this is turning into a strange sort of season. Often we have been unable to hold onto a lead, and often, we are unable to break teams down. I think the number of players that have left/joined is having a massive effect on how well the gaffer can create a strong spine in the team. Without a strong, stable spine we will always be on a constant rollercoaster of results.
I was impressed with some of the movement in the front line on Saturday but the passing of Eggy and Duffy was particularly wayward at times and didn't help the forwards. I think that we have enough firepower up front to cause problems for teams but we must try to play the ball on the floor with more precision and speed. When we do this well, we can rip through any team (Duffy is often the string-puller and when he plays well the team often does as well).
I'm looking forward to Saturday and I hope that we see a display of quick football and play to our strengths. Speaking of which, is Burgess back? He's had a great season so far.

What’s happened at Grantham, Tony?
Why did IC leave? Is the budget not competitive?

Tough conditions yesterday but solid performance I thought Burgess in midfield was key once again and fitting he got player of the month good to see at last we have a striker that knows where the net is as for the red card ridiculous now three games without key player 😞

That's a bit harsh Justin first half we had under control 2nd ruined by ref sending Duffy off for no reason and the awful conditions

I thought there were signs that the front three might have goals in them, there were so nice moves, some didn't come off but the intent was there. They were a poor side and had shed 8 the previous week so maybe not the toughest challenge we will face.
I'll be very interested to see how we fare without Duffy, I actually think we might score a few more, I think with Duffy we become too predictably, I think teams man mark him to stop our supply up front, so maybe without him we may play a more varied attack.

I didn’t fancy him on appointment Andy and predicted it wouldn’t last. We are still living out his legacy.Hopefully things will pick up soonest.

Briefly, in our present position to state the obvious we have to forget about our League position as this will depend largely on how other teams perform, and concentrate On each match one at a time. Focus and concentration ninety plus minutes and high intensity play as we saw against Kettering is necessary. I know this sounds like A list of platitudes but sometimes we need to remind ourselves of the basics. And please put away those early chances. We should remind ourselves of what was stated on this site along whil ago that research indicates that 90% of goals are scored from in the box and has been said that's where the penalties are. I agree what was said here that with Duffy missing an adjustment in tactics is needed,I would like to see players backing themselves to take the ball into the box before the regulation wall gets set up. But then what do I know. As the quote goes opinions are like a___holes we all have one. Cheers.

Good away win for the Gingerbreads yesterday but the Dannie’s still grasping for some consistency?

In the light of comments made after the Osset game thought it worth reviewing this thread from December. The Gingerbreads have improved but are still in a dogfight and the Dannies....? A season to put behind us.😞
