I always knew today’s game would be tougher than the recent league game, and so it proved. In fairness, the league result flattered us a bit anyway, and with an under strength starting 11 without Cosmos, Tendai and Rob Morgan, it was always going to be tougher going today.
That said, we took the lead early enough when Tom Siddons poached on the end of a good square ball and slid the ball onto the crossbar and in. We could have maybe added another in the early stages, but they then came right back into it and laid siege onto our goal for the final 15mins of the 1st half. They definitely didn’t deserve to be a goal down at half time in fairness.
They eventually got a deserved equaliser from the penalty spot, possibly giving Danny H his 10th penno to save this season?! (Still only 1 saved).
With the game poised at 1 all, It looked like we’d have to rely on a penalty shoot out, but thankfully super sub Jonny Challinor came on and finished off a good move with a great first time finish into the corner after good work from himself and Cosmos (subbed on with 20 to go)
So into the hat for the next round, some players rested (no sign of Tendia or Rob at all?) and onto Tuesday we go..:
Should be a good game Tuesday. Worksop will be bringing 80 odd fans I hear. Get there early or get on the name list!

Also, something almost as good as the win yesterday was the Stamford Pale Ale at the bar. Ale drinkers have long struggled with draught options on our bar. Good to see a Bakers Dozen option, let’s hope it’s a permanent fixture?!
