Another 5star performance from the Daniels last night. Superb going forward, and generally tight at the back. We went behind early on, but didn't panic and dispatched Lincoln like a lower league side in the FA Cup. Their goal was another penalty. That's 8 penalties Haystead has faced in 7 days! (1 saved) We really are the real deal this season though, and i look forward to every game at the moment. Connor Bartle looked good, setting up at least one of the goals, Siddons got a couple of goals which will hopefully give him a boost, and Cosmos was again consistently dangerous throughout. Chally is a cracking super sub at the moment too. He definitely changes things when he comes on.
Brilliant lads. That Worksop game in a few weeks is already shaping up to be a cracker....

Your right Dean, Worksop will be a cracker, but before the season kicked off, Graham predicted 5 or 6 clubs would be pushing to win the league, and he usually predicts these things spot on. So, just when we thought this league couldn't get any harder - it has. Expect 10 Cup Finals at least this season, Belper, Leek, Worksop, Cleethorpes and of course we had one a week ago at Ilkeston. And then of course we have the likes of Carlton, Sheffield and Frickley - are they going to lie down and make it easy, No. This league and the Northern Premier league are horrible, tough, very tough leagues to get out of, but yes, we have our best chance, maybe. Putting the defeat at Royston to one side, the boys have been brilliant so far, the football has been amazing, the energy and fitness is spot on, and we are a 'big unit' strong and resilient and don't take any shit. One factor in our favour is our fantastic support our boys get. We have a great home atmosphere for the boys to play in (and you can see how they appreciate this) and we probably have the best away support as seen at Royston and could have filled our given allocation at Ilkeston twice over. So lets get a good crowd over to Nottingham next week to make the Carlton game feel like a home game. If we keep well in the mix throughout the season, I see no reason why we should not start pushing the current 400 limit to its maximum - there are some cracking Cup Finals coming up this season at the Zeeco Stadium. Play Up The Dannies

Thanks Dean for your interesting match comments on the Lincoln game. Don't be disheartened by a lack of replies or response of any kind. There are quite a lot of us old gits and others who for a variety of reasons can't get to matches. I follow the news flashes from James Bedford or Richard Curtis on Twitter so I keep up with what's happening during matches, but enjoy reading a well considered post-match summary, so thanks for keeping the tattered forum flag flying old mate. I think that most of those who used to be regular contributors have moved on to other pursuits. I agree about the Mercury's excellent football (and all sports) coverage these days. James maybe allows Gresh a little too much space for his rambling thoughts - but that's better than the other way around! Its all looking good, we have arguably our best ever squad and hopefully we will be allowed to finish the season with promotion this time. I can remember the grim days of the 1950s when secretary Johnnie Dolby would spend Saturday mornings touring Leicester and surrounds in a Tilley's taxi trying to raise a team. One such off-the-streets recruit, Vince Howard, from Heanor, proved to be one of the best right backs of that era. Some others are best forgotten!

We didn’t use to change ends at the new ground like most non league fans do, but I think we’re victims of our success. Currently, most of the action is at the goal we’re attacking, so for me it makes sense to be that end. Especially if we are attacking that end in the 2nd half
