The deadline for applications was yesterday evening so anyone likely to be in the mix will now have put their four penn'orth in to the club.
I've heard plenty of rumours and suggestions, some of which are more credible than others and some of which are rather exciting, if anything comes of them.
One of the early rumours was about the management team from Grantham, which seemed a bit odd under the circumstances but I see that they have now been awarded contracts so perhaps even a rumour that they might have been off has got the Grantham board to act. Surely there wasn't a bit of "spin" behind the original rumour to force their hand or have I been reading too many political autobiographies ;D

saw our chairman at the PNS v DEEPING game last night. Was also seen at the Deeping v Kings Lynn match last week as well... Apparently, we now have a short-list of candiates - and interviews with them will commence later this week...

Tapping up Tunge, no doubt. What would make you think this? For a start, the deadline for applications to be in was passed before then and why wouldn't a Peterborough-based football person go and see a local derby like PNS v Deeping, especially when PNS are on such a winning roll and Deeping had bounced back from the pasting they took off Lynn? As for what names I've heard rumoured, they don't include any former Daniel's bosses, which is a bit of a relief considering Dodgy Keast is currently "between clubs" ;D

Was tongue in cheek, clipper. With some of the rumours doing the rounds it's sometimes difficult to get the right end of every stick.

At least it was all done above board, 7 day approach put in etc. I don't think that Biley is managing anyone at the moment having previously been at Aylesbury.

New Manager Monday 17th October 2011
Stamford AFC is delighted to announce the appointment of our new manager Tommy Brookbanks and his assistant Gary Stones.
Former Carlton & Hucknall Town manager Tommy will take charge of the squad following tomorrow evenings second round home fixture v Coalville Town in The Doodsons Cup.
Tommys first game in charge will be Saturdays trip to Matlock Town in The FA Trophy.
So there you go then, all those UCL bods back to the "day job"!

That's a great appointment for all sorts of reasons: well respected at this level, knows the league and the players inside out, has a good number 2, performed miracles with Carlton over the years, has done fantastically well with Hucknall this season whilst they had no budget and were in utter financial turmoil and knows how to win and get promotions.
Welcome aboard Tommy..

Not sure if anyone looks on the Pitchero site, but I spotted this on their site earlier. Seems we tried to persuade Frecks to take over. Dean, apparently The Beatles have split up too!

Looks to be a great appointment.
I think everybody would agree, the way John Drewnicki has managed this process has been first class. Proper leadership, clever strategy and 100% professional.
Lets all hope SAFC can push on now.

I knew we'd tried to persuade him, but didn't realise it had been made 'official' and Frecks had commented in the press about it.
