After his red card against Northampton Town, Dan has been suspended for three matches and so misses the first three league games.

I feel this is a massive miss for town, pre season he has looked probably our best player, although beeson will most probs fill in ver capably.

Mind you - I did note the referee laughing whilst he sent Dotty off...
Northampton were'nt too bothered about the tackle - talking to some people after the game...

Rumour is that's Dan off back to Boston United - he was spotted watching their 11-0 win over Spalding on Saturday.

I heard that aswell.... Massive loss i feel if dotty goes. Although beeson is capable i still feel dotty was going to step up this year, and he proved that in some pre season matches i saw.

Popped into work last night to see some friends who were retiring, and heard the same rumour from a Boston Supporter.....
Ah well....

Dan Cotton was indeed at the Spalding v Boston United friendly, and was in conversation with Boston joint manager Rob Scott.I understand he is one of a couple of wide players Boston United are talking to following the loss of Tyrone Kirk.

Is he not under contract to Stamford. If so, how can Boston be talking to him?

Don't think there's anything in his contract to stop him TALKING to other clubs???

I am sure he was under contract at some stage, but I was under the impression he no longer was (whether or not it expired at the end of last season who knows).
Either way, I am sure the money that was spent on Dan (however much it was) can be re-used to bring in somebody as good if not better.
I'd personally like to see it used to strengthen the defence (left and central).

I have heard tonight that Cotton has signed for Boston, and from what I have been told, it doesn't sound like he was on a contract

I'd be disappointed if Dan left. He's not the perfect player by any stretch and his loss won't be the same as someone like Kirk, but he does manage to create openings, and that's something I think we're lacking. Would be a shame to lose him, but not one we can't overcome that's for sure.
